When I heard about NovaLash’s custom eyelash system on SheBlogs.org, I had to try them for myself. I have always considered myself to have nice lashes – but have always wanted a more dramatic lash line. Completely inept with the drug store stick-on lashes that my friends have tried out (believe me – many of them are inept at applying them as well), I’ve made myself content with testing various mascaras and eyeliners. Now – that’s PR copy, and while I hate to cut and paste, I agree 100% with everything their PR rep, Ali, wrote. The lashes are pricey – $400 – but for a wedding or special occasion – or if that’s a feasible luxury in your budget – they are worth EVERY penny. I went to see Angela at GlamourGirl Lashes for my trial run, and she was fantastic. She took about 3 hours to apply them (you’d never think it was so hard to keep your eyes closed for 3 hours until you have to!), and when I was done, my entire face was transformed – by something so subtle that I never would have expected it. The lashes opened my eyes, made them look bigger, and flattered my face, and you would NEVER know they were fake. That said, I saw some of the work she’d done for clients who wanted a more dramatic look – and if you go TOO long – it’s obvious.
I had mine done just before my wedding – and I am so hooked that I have been going back for fill-ins (you have to have the lashes filled every 2 – 3 weeks, and should have them freshly touched-up within a few days of any major event) ever since.

Glamour Girl Lashes: Esthetician’s Passion Leads To A Successful Business

Creating a personal look that suits each client’s individual style is angela si- mons’ passion. she started her first lash business, Beauty studio 28, in June 2006, and was so successful that she founded a second business, Glamour Girl Lashes, in october 2009.

“I originally was traveling to clients and then got so busy, I couldn’t fit all of the clients in traveling, so I opened a location in both coral Gables and Boca Raton,” explains angela simons, 33. “I had worked as a manager in retail, did makeup for several years and I’m a licensed esthetician and wanted to own my own business.”

So, this new York native got certified in eyelash extensions and saw a great opportunity to do something she was enthusiastic about. (she has since moved to Boynton Beach, closed her two business locations and opened Glamour Girl Lashes in Delray Beach, which specializes in eyelash extensions and eyelash products.)

“I customize a look for each individual’s style. When clients come to me after having their lashes done elsewhere, they stay with me.”

“Glamour Girl Lashes is different from other companies,” angela points out. “I only use top quality products (by novalash and Lavish Lashes). I have chosen the best glues and lashes on the market. The lashes both look and feel natural, like my clients’ own lashes. I specialize in eyelash extensions, and this is different than other companies that offer many services.”

Angela’s application and technique are different, too. “I customize a look for each individual’s style,” she expresses. “When clients come to me after having their lashes done elsewhere, they stay with me.”

Eyelash extensions range from $250 to $550 at salons – Angela charges $300 – for a full set which can last up to eight weeks when properly cared for.

Angela looks forward to growing and expanding her business, while “doing what she’s passionate about.”
